Y Plas, Cardiff Student’s Union, Saturday 10th April, was the scene of the hotly contested, Dear Barber sponsored, Salon Cymru 2016 Barbering competition.
Hosted by industry leaders ISA Training, over 500 hairdressing and barbering enthusiasts from across Wales were in the building to take in expert demonstrations, network with fellow professional, and, to witness the competitors doing their thing.
Representing Dear Barber at the event was Global Brand Ambassador, The Darryn Pitman, no stranger to the competitive barbering world himself with over 30 awards under his belt. Darryn spent time taking in all of the entries and was very impressed with the talent on show. He was later welcomed on stage to announce the winners and present them with their awards.
Congratulations go to all of the entrants with special mentions going to the top three placings: Adrian Heywood of Rhos on Sea in 3rd; Ryan Pitman of Caerphilly in 2nd; and Marcus Feeley of Ystrad Mynach who came away with 1st place. All of the competitors brought a fresh approach to the age-old tradition of barbering and there were several eye-catching men’s hair and facial hair styles on show.
Dear Barber is proud to work in conjunction with the ISA Training team (www.isatraining.co.uk) to promote and encourage the next generation of barbers.
